Engage with your life in a new way
Therapy does take a certain level of time and commitment and is an investment in yourself. Recovery means you engage with your life in a new way. CBT takes effort and regular sessions to see change. In the same way as we need to go to the gym consistently and put in the work between sessions if we want to see real change. CBT is the same. The good thing is, we know there will be barriers and challenges to changes, so we can work on these together to achieve your goal. I will walk with you through the challenges, offering support and encouragement along the way. We work together to develop a strong, kind, compassionate and focussed response to change.
So If you feel ready to start to work on the concerns you have, ready to attend sessions regularly and work with someone to sustain any changes in thinking and behaviour, then contact me to discuss your concern and we can get booked in.
If you would like to book a therapy, please choose to book free 10 min call first and we can chat through your concerns or issues, before you commit to an assessment slot.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness and meditation are ancient methods of supporting mental health and wellness, and though we might see them presented with some stereotypical images of candles and sitting cross legged, meditation and mindfulness are actually accessible and transportable practices which do not need a specific setting.
Sitting and being with the self in practices can become the way we learn to be mindful of ourselves, our deeper thinking, frequent thoughts, feelings, bodily sensation and often seeing patterns. By having a detailed and focussed attention on these patterns and the relationship we have with our thinking we can change just how we respond to ourselves, and our life’s challenges.
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy
Uses Meditation and mindfulness as the vehicle for awareness and gives space for change. Mindfulness incorporated with cognitive therapy opens a door to a way of treating depression, which is different from talking therapies. It has been extensively research and demonstrates a strong evidence base for helping people to navigate reoccurring depression, as well as a first episode. I am a qualified MBCT teacher. Having been a CBT therapist for several years before undertaking the MBCT training, I was nothing but surprised just how powerful this therapy is. If we can be open to and curious about what happen within ourselves when we slow down enough to notice, all sorts of light bulbs go on. I have seen patients recover and go on to describe such a profound impact of the MBCT approach that it is a joy to teach.

Testimonials
After struggling with crippling anxiety and self loathing following a traumatic event I saw Louise. I had tried previous therapies before, but it was Louise who I felt most comfortable with who gave me the tools to break through the dark times. I no longer have flashbacks, I am back doing things I enjoy and am looking forward to the future

Louise I can’t say anymore than Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I wouldn’t be in this position and feel able to go to university if it wasn’t for you. I really cannot Thank you enough. I was really anxious about talking to someone but you made it so much easier than I had imagined. Thanks again so much
